JCBC Softball: Game 2

OPPONENT 26, JOHN’S CREEK 14

The score looks worse than the game actually was. Before the last inning, John’s Creek led 14-13. Then John’s Creek forgot how to play defense, committed six errors in the last inning and let the other team score thirteen runs. But, on the bright side, it wasn’t the worst loss of the day. The red team that played before us lost 38-2. That game wasn’t as close as the score indicates.

Playing their first 9:30PM game of the season, John’s Creek scored five times in the first inning, nine time in the fourth inning and put up goose eggs every other frame. Lou and Nathaniel had back-to-back doubles in the first inning that plated three runs and Josh and Randy hit consecutive home runs in the fourth inning. We’re all very proud of Josh for hitting it out of the infield. Again, here’s an abbreviated boxscore.

Dwight: 1-2, R, 2BB
Darren: 2-4, 2R, 2RBI
TJ: 1-3, RBI, 2E (fielding) (sac fly)
Lou: 2-3, 2 2B, 2R, BB, RBI, 2E (throwing, fielding)
Nathaniel: 3-4, 2B, 2R, 3RBI, 2E (fielding, throwing)
Ned: 2-3, 2R
Josh: 2-3, HR, RBI, 2E (fielding) (inside-the-park home run)
Randy: 1-3, HR, RBI (inside-the-park home run)
Bryan: 1-3, R, 3E (fielding)
James: 0-2, BB, R
